其中buildings包括:Describe a library、a museum、a building in your university、a monument in your city、your ideal house;

http://bailiedu.comPlaces包括:Describe a restaurant、a shopping center、a street、a hotel、a city you visited、a place with water;

Scenic spots包括:Describe a historical place、a natural beauty、a river or lake根据三类不同的话题,我们这里提供三种不同的解题思路:

Restaurant:

http://bailiedu.com3.

Describe a book you read、a gift you received from others、a wild animal等;2. Describe an interesting news、a useful website、 a performance you saw、a organization、your future job等。

http://bailiedu.com如:A gift和人物联系:My best friend, classmate, colleague, foreign friend, parents…;和地点联系:Coastal city, small city, metropolis, other countries…;和事件联系:Gift was bought by this people (souvenir), hand-made…

……

A film

A performance

An interesting news

An e-mail

……

Talk about a favourite class you like

My favourite class that I took was a class I took about five years ago. The class was on International Trade and Marketing for an International Market. I was a second-year student at university and I was eager to begin to specialize in my field. You see at that time I had all these ideas about how I could get rich by selling Chinese-made products to the west. You know, I think there are a lot of people who have the same dream that I did. My thinking was that what I could sell wasn't available in the west, so international marketing would just be about telling the world about it, and then waiting for the money to come in.

In this course we had a professor who was not only knowledgeable from a theoretical standpoint, he also had a lot of practical knowledge, since he used to work for a Chinese company who sold products in

America. He lived in America and supervised the efforts of the marketing

department, so he had a rich knowledge of the kinds of things that can go wrong when you're trying to market to people from a different market. He told us how some Chinese executives would choose certain clients over others only because they were willing to make advance payments, but that in fact the clients who wanted better .credit terms were actually more profitable clients. He said it was natural for executives to favor clients who paid early in China, but that in the west where credit was the norm most clients thought it quite normal to pay over long periods of time. He said that some clients took advantage of this mindset to try and squeeze lower prices out of his company.

The style was completely anecdotal. By that I mean he just told stories. He tried to organise these stories as they related to the theory, and they tended to make sense from a practical way of looking at the issues. He also gave us a lot of humorous examples of cultural differences along the way. But he also told us that people are people wherever they come from, and he even told us how he exported products to places like Rwanda and how similar they were to us in many respects.

It was my favourite because it taught me what issues to think about before setting up any international trade. More than just knowledge it

also helped me to understand the issue of culture better, and this was very relevant to me since I am planning to go overseas soon.

1. When you were in school (primary school or high school) did any of your teachers have a (strong) influence on you?

My English teacher. She was very patient and kind and she taught me a lot about tolerance. We still sent Christmas cards to each other every year. She was an inspiration. She was the reason I became a teacher.

I can?t say if one teacher inspired me greatly. I?ve had a few teachers that were awasome and gave me that little push.

My 9th grad math teacher Mr. Mara. I always struggled with math. Thanks to him, I went from flunking math to getting A's & B's. Before that, I thought I was just an idiot. With the right teacher, I discovered that I could do math.

2. What qualities should a good teacher have?

They need to be interested in the subject matter they are teaching, care about students, and recognize that not all students learn in the same way, so that they can find multiple ways of explaining the same concept

A good teacher has patience, listens to the students, makes encouraging comments to the students who seem to struggle either with the work or with emotions.

3. What do you think of teaching as a job/career/line of work? It?s a great job. It also pays well. Rewarding, fulfilling, well respected. My sister and a close friend of mine are primary school teachers and it's hard work but it can be fun as well. Vacation time is good.

I know a lot of people think that doing it will be an easy option, but it is hard work. The holidays are great, but you need them because by the end of term you are like a zombie.

4. Are teachers in China very strict?

Yes, for the most part, especially in primary school and middle school, ?cos in general, strict teachers have a better control over their classes. If a teacher is just nice, students think they can just walk all over them and they won't do anything. They just don't take the "nice" teacher seriously. But if a teacher is strict, they will have control over their class and actually teach their class.
